The GCSE in Art and Design (Photography) provides students with a range of creative, exciting and stimulating opportunities to explore their interests in Art and Design in ways that are relevant and developmental. This increased access to the arts in a different form that may have not been considered by young people. In addition it provides:

  • A range of options with a broad course in Photography with six specialist endorsed areas to explore and develop
  • A strong and appropriate foundation for further progression to Art and Design related courses such as our A-level Art and Design and enhanced vocational and career pathways.

Oak Training’s GCSE in Photography allows students that may not consider art as a possible career option and allows students to explore and develop new skills that can be used in a variety of career options.

The intensive course engages students to develop ideas through individual personal interests which gives students a clear focus and allows to achieve to the best of their ability.

Both units are delivered over an agreed 10 day period where students will prepare a personal portfolio of evidence, unit 1 60 %, and a personal response to an externally set question, unit 2 40%, set by Edexcel.

The programme facilitates a highly practical and engaging subject with relevant outcomes for learners and schools which is all controlled by Oak Training with minimal disruption to the student and school.
